ABOUT 3PLUMS DELICATESSEN
Based between New York and Beijing, 3PLUMS DELI by 3plums Studio is an art project focusing on culture exchange between the east and the west through food and risograph. The making of 3plums Studio was concieved by the publication of a small riso-printed artists’ book titled "read a lotus root slice" published in 2022. This single-sheet accordion book holds three recipes and stories of a vegetable lesser known (in the west): lotus root.
Deeply inspired by the manual labor involved in cooking and risography, 3PLUMS DELI offer a menu of objects, artists’ books & prints, wearable goods, and street publications. In 2024, 3PLUMS DELI launched a new series inspired by winter in Beijing. Drawing from literature and street culture, 3PLUMS DELI publications bridge tactile experiences in various cities through image-based work. Food connects people by bringing them together, so does publication and artists' books. Works can be found in the New York Public Library Picture Collection.
